25-Foot Cedar Hedge Trimming in Amberlea, Pickering
Professional 25-foot cedar hedge trimming in Amberlea, Pickering, including tall hedge shaping, selective reduction, detailed pruning and complete debris cleanup.
Amberlea, Pickering
Project Overview
This mature cedar hedge in the Amberlea area of Pickering had reached approximately 25 feet in height and required specialized trimming to restore a cleaner, more controlled profile while maintaining the privacy it provides around the backyard and pool area.
KCG Outdoor Services completed detailed trimming and shaping across the full hedge, working carefully at significant height to address irregular upper growth and overextended sections. The goal was to improve the overall form of the hedge without unnecessarily cutting into older interior growth that could affect its long-term appearance.
The location presented additional challenges due to the hedge's proximity to the swimming pool, interlock patio, retaining features and other backyard amenities. Access and equipment placement had to be carefully managed throughout the project while maintaining control of cut material.
Tall, mature cedar hedges require a different approach than standard residential hedge trimming. Work was completed progressively to create a more uniform face and upper profile while preserving the dense screening that makes the hedge an important feature of the property.
Following trimming, cut cedar material and debris were removed from the lawn, patio and poolside areas, leaving the backyard with a significantly cleaner and more professionally maintained hedge line.

Challenges
- At approximately 25 feet tall, the hedge required work well above the height of a typical residential hedge. Its substantial size, dense mature growth and uneven upper canopy required careful access and controlled cutting.
- The hedge also bordered a pool and landscaped backyard, limiting equipment placement and increasing the importance of managing falling cut material around the patio, retaining features and pool area.
Our Solutions
- The hedge was trimmed progressively in sections using appropriate elevated access equipment and long-reach tools. Growth was selectively reduced and shaped to create a cleaner, more consistent profile while maintaining healthy exterior foliage and the property's existing privacy screen.
- Careful equipment positioning allowed work to be completed around the poolside environment, with cut material collected and removed as the project progressed.
